So as the new year starts I thought I’d write a few posts about the wedding day… I’m not going to start at the beginning but half way through the day usually…The Posed Group Photos. I’m sure that like me you love the natural expressions, emotions and fun that is captured at a wedding and for most people the formal photography part of the day is the bit they dread. I do fee that a few posed group shots are important for your wedding photographs and it needn’t be a couple of hours of sore cheeks and boredom … Read on.

Although I try to be as unobtrusive as I can be, there are times during the wedding day where I may have to guide things along a little. Part of this is the group shots, whilst I know that most of our clients have chosen me for my natural style I also know that there may be people that are important to you that I may miss if I don’t know about them… therefore I suggest that you have a few formal group shots so that I won’t miss Auntie Mable or Uncle Albert…
Below is my list of suggested group shots. If you took these as what you’d like it usually takes around 30-40 minutes to get this list done.
You may want to split the list between the wedding venue and the reception venue or you may want to do them all at one or the other.
Obviously this list is just a guide and you can use it as is, edit it, add to it, take from it, ignore it, chuck it in the bin… after all it’s your wedding and I want to shoot it the way you want it shot.

Don’t worry … I’ve not forgot you two… I always have 15-20 minutes with just the 3 of us getting some beautiful portraits of you two both as Mr and Mrs and on your own.
When you’re planning times it’s a good idea to have at least an hour and a half for photos, I probably won’t use all this time on posed / formal shots but I will be watching and taking natural shots during this as well.
If you want to discuss any of this please contact me.
