Wilderness with Responsible Fishing

We went to Wilderness festival last weekend, it was the first year for this festival and we were thrilled to be invited as Responsible Fishing to perform with stone balancing and natural land art.

We had a great reception and lots of positive feedback.  Jim, Timm and Rob did some beautiful balances and Caroline, Sam and Sally (or the Responsible Fish Wives as we are now known) made natural bunting, sold some of our prints and generally attempted to keep our 7 children away from the largest boulders.

The festival was amazing.  It felt very small and intimate with the number of people but the site was large and in keeping with the site.  We swam in the cold, weedy lake like true wilderness folk and the RFWs (responsible fish wives) went in the outdoor spa.  The wood fired hot tubs were AMAZING and the yurt sauna was the hottest I have ever been in.

The best part for us though (apart from ourselves!) were the Flying Seagulls, a troupe of children’s entertainers who travel the world trying to make a difference to disadvantaged children and other marginalised groups of people.  They were fantastic, they didnt patronise the kids, they were fun, open and very cool.

They are a registered charity and are such a worthy cause, you can donate direct at http://www.justgiving.com/flyingseagull/Donate or you can donate musical instruments that you no longer use to them.  Please check out their website and support this amazing group!

Here are a few of our favourite photographs from the weekend.
